Owing UR LIFE 

I owe my life to several things. But at times it has has been music that kept me alive. It might be easy to conceive that a broken heart , a down spirit might might desire to extinguish the fire with playing , writing a song. I found on numerous times the next works gave me instant will to live another day. If I talked to God I was convinced He said, "Sam finish all the work I gave you before you leave." Sooner or later I know what the response will be. So the hopper is full! So much to complete!
Next come purpose. Not mine, but the songs, the art , the albums , the dreams... they are for those all those  that God wanted to hear them. I don't know how many there are... I know a little of the heart opening it will do for some.... as the inspiration and spirit opened mine! And the thanks I give to the listener because that purposeful listen has given me extra life.

Busted Dreams... more than just a collection of thoughts/dreams/songs/stories maybe a lifetime.
In it "the artist" takes life as a coin. Some times 
flips it in a good sense, honestly other times just says,"flip it!" till the next chance. Sometimes it seems like a big work of art, other times reduced 
to near nothing. A penny can be a blessing. Some
use it as an insult (a penny for your thoughts). Flip
it again. Take the next chance, even if you got all you ever wished for...you can only share that for a while. One side reality, one side dreams. Flip it again we all do...

I first wrote this song on guitar. I wanted to try it out on piano, I liked the feel and flow so much decided to play it that way as I did live for the video. But I still missed the feeling the guitar gave. I added bass and some organ too ... this is what I ended up with ..... a story full of conversations ... so here is to now ..... ITS NOT THEN ...... Yeah I am Indie I didn't know what that was when I started doing music in the open spaces again. Yea I am Indie, but I had to ask the question, What is Indie?

Being indie puts the whole ball in your court.Everything rest on your shoulders. Even if you have help you started that ball a rolling.... gives you a real chance to be real (not saying anyone else is not)! The main challenge is just getting to the people that like or love what you do the first time! Thanks to all of you that support and generate paid listens and all of you that buy copies of music, and other items from UR S MAN. Putting Together A Recording is sometimes an investment of some time.....what you do when wear a bunch of hats or even do it without regard to the hats.........It's Not Then is a song hopeful to include on the upcoming New Stories To Tell album. It could be done in more of a rush but its art. Perfection may not be the goal as much as getting the best out of this pass with this song! Want you to hear it feel it get something worthwhile out of it. That is what it is really about! Hope to share  some more as we go along and finish this album before I move into the next one... will be back and talk some more about it as we go.....this may not be the end product yet for this song.....It's Not Then
